I've ran in this race since 2006, minus 2009 when i had Libbi. I just HAD to do it this year! With very little running, mostly crossfit training, old shoes and a 3 month old baby i DID WELL! I was super happy with my results AND the way i felt after. The night before we all put on an old shirt and my medals and talked about 'doing hard things' I hope the kids will always try things even if they may be hard. This race was going to be hard! I knew it was. But i really wanted to prove to myself and my kids that I COULD DO HARD THINGS!! I'm SOOO happy i did it! It was a very peaceful run, with lots of time to think and ponder. Hard things will come to us in life and if we are prepared for them, knowing we can handle them, we will endure MUCH more than we think!
Natalie and I have ran all of these races, some together, some not, but we're always there in the beginning and end to cheer each other on!
I packed my camera in my fanny pack!! YES I DID!! HA! I'm so glad i did! I was not going for a PR, just wanted to finish and HAVE FUN! Which i did!!
My number 1 fans!! (ok so in all the years of doing this, this was my 7th half, i have never found my family at the end, they have yet to actually SEE ME FINISH!!! we always miss each other!)
My Supporters. It really means alot to have people at the finish line. I can't explain how grateful i am that they take the time to come. Its really a HUGE deal and i appreciate you :)
My 3 month old baby! YES! 3 months post baby i ran a HALF MARATHON!! WE CAN ALL DO HARD THINGS!! (yes Heidi, i stole that from you!)
And my post workout recovery drink :)
My time 2:18
Up next: another half in the fall, trying to beat my time from last year (also my PR) of 1:54
Wish me luck!!
