And here comes the tears...
Sunnee is my closest thing to a sister. We grew up basically under the same roof (we even swapped houses once, thinking the others mom was a better one ha ha!) I remember so many things from our childhood. Dancing, i was the shy one, she would have to pull me out on the stage bawling!! I'm sure she wishes she could've just danced her heart out, without worrying about her lame little cousin! I remember many nights of hide and seek in the cubby hole. I DON'T remember being attacked by her at naptime, but we've been told the story many times! She was playing LION! HA! She wanted to play, and i was sleeping! So she bit me all over my face and arms!! Ha ha ha!! Best story ever.
We grew up inseperable. As we grew older, we still stayed with the same crowd. We had the same friends, went to the same parites, even dated the same guys! (yes its true, i dated Andy) Even though she was a year older in school, we were always close. I thank my mom and my Heavenly Father for providing me with the opportunity to grow up with Sunnee and Brock and eventually Skylee, who came to the picture a while later. We were 10 when Skylee was born and I remember being so jealous that Sunnee had a REAL sister and I didn't. In a small way I felt like I had lost my only sister. That was FAR from true, when in fact what had happened was I gained ANOTHER sister!! A REAL sister isn't just a blood sister, its a true friend, that you can count on when in need. And I have many sisters!
Sunshine is in need. She had been diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer. It all started about 3 1/2 weeks ago when she woke up with a lump in her neck. After many tests, ER visits and a few scares they FINALLY diagnosed her with Lymphona. Its NHL B cell Lymphoma. She is actually at Huntsman as we speak. We should know later today the stage and grade and therefore treatment of the cancer.
Sunnee is the most positive FUN person I know! She is always good for a laugh. The most fun I have had in my life have been with Sunnee. She can make anything a good time. Her sense of humor is one of a kind! Her dance moves.. well lets just say i'm pretty sure Scott isn't her dad, its gotta be the black mailman. Her ability to smile through the pain is a trait that I envy! She has been through so much in her lifetime with a bad egg husband and dead beat dad. She gained 3 beautiful boys from him, but that's it. And now she raises the boys on her own, without his financial or emotional support. She works as a hairdresser 2 days a week to provide for her family. Because she chooses to work a couple days a week, she was denied Medicaid. So therefore she is uninsured facing this ginormous battle ahead of her. (We are still hoping the government pulls through.. but who knows!)
Sunshine Rae was a name chosen perfectly for Sunnee! We have teased that her parents were a little 60's high when they named her, but she's proven to live up to that name!!
We will kick cancers butt Sunshine!! Cancer doesn't know they picked the wrong girl!
