Cancer walk 2009

Last night we went to the Cancer walk at Weber State. We have done this every year since Kurt and I got married, so 7 years! This year with life being crazy for everyone we didn't get an actual team together but we decided to go anyway. We just set up chairs and hung out, walked, watched the Harleys come in and even got high fives from the Jazz bear! When the wind picked up we were actually pretty glad to not be staying over night! We came back here and ate and the kids played late so they still had just as much fun! ..And we all got to sleep in our own beds!! We started this the year after my Grandpa Dean died of cancer. 2 years before him my Grandma (his wife) died from cancer at age 65. We started this tradition for them. As the years go on, more and more people close to us keep getting cancer. Grandparents, Aunts, friends and loved ones. It is very annoying that there is no cure but the lady said last night that because of these walks and from raising money, 65% of people who get cancer are cured! So we're getting closer to a cure. More of a reason to keep on going to this event every year!
